Schematic Pin Out of Ethernet Cable RJ45 Connector

Are you an technical engineer? or are you an telecommunication engineer? You are must be knowledge with these wiring standards because it's very important in your jobs. Here, I am share with you about of EIA/TIA wiring standards. This time my company use the Belden Cable Category 5E.
EIA/TIA wiring standards were first published in 1991 and have been evolving ever since. The EIA/TIA-568 standard defines the specification of the cable to be used as well as some installation rules. The latest version of the EIA/TIA standard is 568B, which contains some minor enhancements to the original 1991 standard. The most popular is Category 5, the highest-quality UTP cable. It is tested at 100 MHz, allowing it to run high-speed protocols such as 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet and FDDI. Category 5 cable also uses either 22 or 24 AWG unshielded twisted pair wire with impedance of 100 ohms.

To network more than two computer systems, a hub or switch is a must. A straight Ethernet cable (not the crossover Ethernet cable) must be used to linked up a computer system to either switch or hub. As the name imply, a straight Ethernet cable has same RJ-45 pin-out configuration at both end of the CAT-5 cable, either by using EIA/TIA-568A standard or EIA/TIA-568B standard

In normal wiring, the transmit pair is in ORANGE and the receive pair is in GREEN. The other two pairs, blue and brown, are ignored.

Remark :
The maximum length of Ethernet cable should not more than 100 meter to avoid signal loss (unstable network connection).

  5. These ethernet cable can be found pre-prepared with fix length, However sometime these pre-made cables are of not the desired length and then we are required to prepare a custom length Cable.
